Manufacturers
Abit - is/was a good company (historically #2) but is having SERIOUS financial problems, stay away from Abit for the time being
Asus - by far is the #1 manufacturer in terms of market share & product selection - always a good/safe choice
DFI - has a long track record with special attention within the last several years given to the enthusiast, a very good choice
eVGA - a new entry, to date nVidia only, and has had very good success. Follows nVidia reference designs to the letter, and it shows. Superb lifetime warranties available.
Giga-byte - is a new entry with some good products, but does struggle from time to time with maintaining quality - choose w/ caution (good & bad)
MSI - is a good company with some good hits in its history
