Thick as Thieves (aka The Code)
Release: April 17, 2009

This 'straight to disc' movie was a 'nothing new is out' pickup for myself after a very long day of work, and I needed to vegetate. Well unfortunately you won't do much vegitating in this movie, BUT fortunately it really is very, very good! Morgan Freeman and Antonio Bandares are both excellent actors, but I can't say I've ever heard of the director, writer, production house, or anything! Typically I'd say this is a dangerous pick with all the money in two great actors and no script or directing to stand on, but I'd be wrong here. This is an all-round great movie, go rent it now! Note: there is some confusion, as the movie goes by either of two titles: 'Thick as Thieves' OR 'The Code'... I rented it from Blockbuster as 'The Code'.

This 'straight to disc' movie was a half-hearted pickup for two very little boys looking to get something at the rental store, and wow... the production value of this lil gem is unbelievable. What do you get when you combine Lionsgate, a cartoon (err' animated film), with Marvel's newfound love of the film industry? Every aspect of this video was profoundly perfect, I even felt like an original Avenger 'so to speak' while I watched my kiddies become the 'Next Avengers'.

This movie was staring at me in the video rental store, shortly after Colin Farrell's very succesful S.W.A.T. came out in the theater. I thought he did a great job, and went out on a limb with this complete unknown. I don't usually care for suspense/thrillers, but this movie was spectacular... everything was very believable; the superb acting really sold it (and it had to). "If you have to ask, then you're not ready to know yet." Go watch this now!

Yeah, I saw the tailers when the movie came out in the theater, and it really just didn't appeal to me whatsoever. I didn't care when it came out on DVD either, had absolutely no interest at all... then at the very persistent urging of a friend (thank you Toby!), I reluctantly watched his copy which he had brought over and was truly amazed! This was most definately my kind of move.
