Must See Video of the Day
HardOCP - 1 hour 44 min ago
I have never seen anything like this, a military Jeep torn completely down and rebuilt in under four minutes. This isn't some gimmick either, they drove it to and from the exhibition. While not "tech" related, this is definitely one of the coolest things you will see all day. Comments

V3 Gaming Move 3DS Water Cooled SFF
HardOCP - 2 hours 44 min ago
Legit Reviews has just published a review of V3's Gaming Move 3DS water cooled small form factor PC. Overall it seemed like they were impressed with the mini watercooled system, here's a quote from the review: The V3 Gaming Move 3DS computer system wasn't designed to be the most powerful system in the world. It was designed to be a solid gaming system with a small footprint for those limited on space or for those who frequent LAN games and don't want to move a huge system around. In this, V3 has succeeded with flying colors. Comments

DRAM Prices Expected to Continue Downward
HardOCP - 4 hours 44 min ago
DigiTimes, once again citing anonymous industry sources, says that DRAM memory prices should continue to decline in September. Contract prices for DRAM memory are set to decline further in September 2010 amid weakening demand for PCs, according to sources at Taiwan-based DRAM companies. The sources now hope PC replacement demand from the enterprise sector can pick up to help buoy DRAM prices by the end of the year. Comments

HardOCP - 4 hours 44 min ago
Nokia has upgraded its CEO to a familiar Microsoft branded version. The old CEO has been completely uninstalled, sent to trash bin. Elop, head of Microsoft's business division, has held top posts at Juniper Networks Inc., Adobe Systems Inc., Macromedia Inc. He takes over Sept. 21, the company said Friday. Analysts welcomed the choice of the 46-year-old Canadian, who has worked closely with Nokia at Microsoft and Macromedia with developing the Symbian software platform for Nokia phones and delivering Flash player memory capabilities on Nokia devices. Anti-Piracy Firm Banned In Its Own Country
HardOCP - 5 hours 44 min ago
An anti-piracy firm getting banned for breaching privacy laws? Now that is some funny stuff right there, don't you think? A notorious Switzerland-based anti-piracy tracking company has to stop harvesting the IP addresses of citizens using P2P networks. The Swiss High Court ruled that IP addresses constitute personal information and when Logistep collected them without the owner's knowledge, that amounted to a breach of privacy laws. Comments

Craigslist Removes "Censored" Box From Home Page
HardOCP - 6 hours 44 min ago
The good news: The "censored" bar that popped up over the adult services section of Craigslist have been removed. The bad news: The entire adult services section went with it. Amidst criticism from state attorneys general and human rights groups, Craigslist abruptly removed its "adult services" section several days ago. But rather than wipe it from the site entirely, the company placed a black "censored" bar where the link to the adult-oriented section had once been. Comments

New Virus Tries to Delete Your Security Software
HardOCP - 6 hours 44 min ago
There is a new virus out there that actually tries to delete your security software. You know, depending on what you use for anti-virus software, that might not be such a bad thing. While the domain linked to in these infected e-mails is no longer live, infected computers can still be spreading virus messages. When the virus is run, it installs itself as CSRSS.EXE in the Windows directory, then e-mails the contents of your address book. It also spreads through mapped drives, remote machines, and removable media. The virus then attempts to download files and delete security software, including virus protection. Comments
